When it launched, it was initially just a place where people could buy or sell clothes. However, it has become a massive platform where would-be designers can create their own brands.
The beauty of this platform is that you don’t have to be in the same geographic location as other people to buy or sell an item to them. All you need is to have an account.
Operating in a similar way to Instagram, Depop has profiles and photos and profiles, as well as a feed they can browse through. Once a sale has been finalised, you can post the item to the buyer.
5. eBay
Despite it being a phenomenally successful site, many people are still surprised at how easy it is to make money via eBay selling clothes.
Admittedly, it does require a significant investment in your time as sales are always instant. But if you have a wide range of clothing items you want to sell, then it can work well for you.
The process of selling is easy. Once you have created an account, all you need to do is take a photo of the clothing item you want to sell, upload it to eBay and type in a description.
You can set up an auction-style listing for seven days or select ‘Buy Now’ if you want to make a one-off sale.
6. Etsy
It may surprise you to discover that Etsy has been around for close to 20 years. A global marketplace, it has over 54 million items available for sale at any given time.
Many people have enjoyed a lot of success selling their second-hand clothing for a fixed price on the platform.
If you are to sell your clothes on Etsy, be aware of your competition. There are lots of people selling clothing items that are virtually brand new. So you will need to make sure your items are sellable.
Good photos are critical to sales success on Etsy. So make sure to take top-quality snaps of them to accompany your listing.
7. The Closet
Perhaps the one thing putting you off from selling your clothes is the hassle involved in culling your wardrobe.
If that is the case, think about giving THE CLOSET a go. A popular clothing site that positions itself as a thrift store for online fashion, you can sell or buy everything from clothing, hats and handbags to swimwear, sunglasses and maternity clothing.
