If you’ve visited my blog before, then you might well know that I am a fan of jewellery. I have a gold jewellery collection, small but growing steadily. Dower And Hall offered me the chance to review a piece of jewellery from one of their collections, and the Orissa Bracelet just jumped out at me straight away. What I originally loved about it is the fact that there are so many combinations of metals and gemstones. It took me absolutely ages to pick one to review, but I finally settled on the Gold Vermeil & Moonstone Bead version.
The first thing I noticed is how beautifully this is packaged. It comes in a large, well-made box tied with a ribbon. Inside the bracelet is secured with a pretty aqua ribbon. It’s instantly striking and I immediately thought how nice it would be to receive this as a gift.
The bracelet itself is so delicate. This is what I’d hoped for. It’s very lightweight and nice to wear, but carries a lot of impact.
You can see that it has two ‘parts’ to it. One is the chain of stones, and the other is a smaller, dainty chain. They are both fastened by a quatrefoil catch, engraved with Dower And Hall.
Gold and white is a timeless combination. In crystal healing, the moonstone is said to enhance positive emotions and instil a sense of calm on the wearer. It’s also the stone of the Roman goddess, Diana, and it was a popular stone in Roman jewellery (I studied Greek and Roman history so that kind of connection is right up my street).
I’m really pleased with my selection, and with the Orissa Bracelet overall. It fits perfectly in with the rest of my collection, and would look good worn alongside other bracelets.
The Orissa Bracelet Combinations
The Orissa Bracelet comes in so many variations, and it’s easy to select them on the Dower And Hall website. Although not so easy to actually choose one as they’re all so pretty! You can pick from 18ct gold vermeil, 18ct rose gold vermeil, or sterling silver. Then you have the choice of which gemstone to go for (you can also pick pearls). To mix it up even more, you can also add charms to the bracelet.
