The run up to Christmas Day is always my favourite time of the year. I love the new beginnings in springtime, and the warmer weather of summer. However, for me nothing beats the cosiness of Christmas. I know a lot of people also feel the same. Being a real homebody at heart, creating a warm and festive home is always such a treat. There’s nothing better than snuggling up under warm blankets while fairy lights sparkle and Christmas decorations twinkle around you. This and a good book, a cup of hot chocolate, or a heartwarming film pretty much make my evenings at this time of year.
High on my lust list for a cosy Christmas this year is the new Highland Myths edit from John Lewis.
Faux fur throws, rustic accessories and some copper accents provide the simple yet luxurious feel that I love at this time of year. John Lewis are so good at homeware and accessories, and they nail it every year with their collections. I find a wander around a John Lewis store at Christmas puts me in a festive mood instantly. In fact, I’m heading back to my hometown of Oxford next month to visit their brand new store there with my mum.
Highland Myths is a collection of Christmas decorations, gift wrap, throws, tableware, and cushions. Inspired by Scottish heritage and craftsmanship, it evokes the rugged, woolly and rustic scenes of the Highlands. John Lewis have added in festive accents to the wood, pinecones, feathers and fur with copper, gold and metallic red.
