Best Electric Cars For a Family

We all know that electric cars can be quite expensive compared to their fuel-powered counterpart. If you have a family, it is best to purchase a model that can fit the whole family. Fortunately, there are electric cars that are spacious, affordable, and easy to drive.

The number of electric vehicle models continues to rise. Because of this, many people are confused about which model to get practicality and match your family’s lifestyle. These models have their own features, benefits, and drawbacks. But all models are committed to providing less running costs and sustainability.

If you cannot yet choose which model to purchase, here are some recommendations for families.

Kia Niro EV

Kia is one of the car manufacturers that have been leading the EV industry in the UK. Because it offers a seven-year warranty, Ki has been receiving consistently high ratings from consumers.

The Kia Niro EV offers plenty of space to fit a family. Its second-generation model features the latest technologies in EVs and a sleek design. Kia retained the model’s infotainment setup, parking sensors, and cruise control.

The model is powered by a 64.7kWh battery, which can run up to 285 miles. Users can reach about 80% of their battery in approximately 40 minutes when used with a fast charger.

Kia EV 6

Another EV released by Kia, the Kia EV6 model, is packed with style and technology. Its spacious interior can accommodate a family of five. It is one of the most practical family cars available on the market. It features ample headroom, wide legroom, and extra space for things.

The Kia EV6 is purely electric, housing a 77.4kWh battery. Its engine has 228 horsepower using the rear-wheel drive and 324 horsepower under all-wheel drive. Your car can run up to 314 miles on a full charge with all-wheel drive.

Its engine offers three driving modes, Eco, Normal, and Sport. What’s good about this model s it can get an 80% battery level in 18 minutes when used with an Ionity fast charger. It also has Lane Following Assist, which keeps your car in the center of the road while driving. This feature is just one of the assist functions to look forward to in Kia EV6.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Hatchback

Hyundai is another big name when it comes to electronic vehicles. Despite being a hatchback, it is surprisingly spacious and can accommodate a family of 5. This model is available in two battery sizes, but the 55kWh unit can run up to 240 miles and is recommended for families.

Its interior offers the best comfort for each member of the family. Even with road bumps, its well-cushioned seats keep all passengers comfortable. In addition to this, it has a 7-inch touchscreen control center. It displays all charging and battery-related details. Even driving apps from Android and Apple can be used in the control center.

Mercedes EQB SUV

As an SUV model, the Mercedes EQB can accommodate larger families with seven members. Compared to its fuel-powered counterpart, the Mercedes GLB, has a 66.5kWh battery that can reach more than 250 miles of driving on a full charge.

For drivers who need to charge while on the road, its battery can reach up to 80% in half an hour. Its interior includes the Mercedes’ infotainment system, which can also make displays as a single wide screen. Drivers can also see the EV’s status on its 10.25-inch dashboard.

Since Mercedes manufactured this, you are sure that safety features are available in this model. The Euro NCAP tested it with results of 97% for adult protection and 90% for child protection.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla is one of the first leading names when it comes to EVs and they make really sexy cars. Model Y is almost similar to Model 3. Tesla’s Model Y made the previous model more practical and desirable. Its long-range electric motor can run up to 331 miles, while the performance electric motor can reach up to 319 miles. Both motors reach their full-charge level in under 12 hours.

What’s good about this EV is its extra headroom. No need to worry if you need to rise up the seat for a more comfortable driving experience. It can hold up to 7 passengers, which can all enjoy the airy vibe brought by the large panoramic roof.

Every Tesla owner enjoys the wide central touchscreen. Everything is controlled in this system, including media, climate and wiper control, and even video games which only work when the car is parked.
