One cult beauty classic that many people love to include in their makeup routine is the Chanel bronzer. That is, what was once called the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base and has now been recently renamed as the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream.
Even when it was reformulated at the same time as the name change, which included the addition of hydrogenated coconut oil for a smoother and more emollient base, the product still has many a beauty fan raving about it. Of course, coming from one of the world’s most recognisable luxury brands and with the addition of the über luxe Chanel packaging, the Chanel cream bronzer comes with a high price tag.
It retails at $60 USD (or £48 / €44) which makes it a very expensive makeup product.
Fortunately for bargain hunters and budget beauty fans, there are a growing number of Chanel bronzer dupes to choose from which can save money. Below is a long list of cream products which can be used in the same way as either the original Soleil Tan de Chanel or the new reformulated Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream. Some of these products are also extremely affordable dupes which can give you the same look as Chanel’s bronzer for much less.

Note: some are in stick or liquid format rather than in a pot but are included because they are used in the same way as the the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream.

e.l.f. Putty Bronzer
An amazing dupe is the e.l.f. Putty Bronzer. There is also the added benefit of this product being both cruelty free and vegan (which Chanel is not).

ColourPop SOL Face & Body Bronzing Balm
We just adore this cream bronzer. Colourpop never fails!

W7 Bronze Chic Bronzing Balm
An additional budget Chanel equivalent is W7 Bronze Chic Bronzing Balm which gets great reviews and draws many comparisons to Chanel’s bronzer.

Sculpted By Aimee Cream Luxe Bronze
Definitely a fave and a really good alternative to Chanel’s bronzer.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer
You could also try the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer which is cheaper still.

Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer
Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer is another great choice that gives the same effect as Chanel and comes in multiple shades.

It’s possible therefore to find a good Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel dupe or a dupe of the newer reformulated Chanel bronzer.
You can find more suitable shades for your skin tone if you look to other brands, and can also save yourself some serious cash in the meantime.

How do you use the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream?
The Chanel bronzer is a solid cream product in a jar. It currently comes in three different shades.
It’s usually applied with a kabuki brush and can be used as both a bronzer and a contour, depending on your skin tone.
It has a velvety finish and blends beautifully into the skin, giving a natural bronzed look.
Being a cream bronzer, it works very well on bare skin as well as over foundation.
Is the Chanel Bronzing Cream worth it?
If you love luxury beauty products and don’t mind paying a higher price for a single makeup item, the Chanel bronzing base could be a good option for you.
After all, it has a decent wear time for a cream product and looks very natural.
However, a lot of people have had an issue with the new ingredient of coconut oil which Chanel has recently added to the formulation.
Some people with acne prone skin say it breaks them out.
If this applies to you also then it may be best avoided and you could try one of the Chanel dupes below instead.
Another good thing about trying a dupe is that, even though Chanel has tried to be more inclusive by introducing different shades to its bronzer range, the new shades still don’t work for many people.
If the shades don’t suit you then it’s definitely worth exploring some of the alternatives above.
