Must-have things for a girl on a hike

Girls, as you know, are special people – give us salons, manicures, fitness clubs … But sometimes girls also want to forget the benefits of civilization and find themselves away from the bustle of the city. Moreover, recently women also often prefer active and even extreme recreation.

Those who spend their entire vacation on the beach get an even tan, but lose so many vivid impressions! My article is for those who nevertheless dared to break away from the deck chair and went in search of wanderings, for the smoke of the fire. You need to go to the forest prepared by getting an action camera or any type of camera with gimbals.

A small but valuable experience of hiking, practices and trips allowed me for the first time in my life this year to assemble a “traveller’s set”, forgetting almost nothing. As a result, I not only enjoyed my vacation without any problems but also was a “lifesaver” in all difficult situations, generously distributing pills, pins, threads and other little things. So – we go on a hike!

Roomy backpack

An indispensable attribute of any traveller and traveller is, of course, a backpack! There are many backpacks, the most important thing is to make sure that it fits comfortably on the back and shoulders and is roomy enough. See if there is soft padding on the side of the backpack where it fits the back, and what kind of straps it has (it’s good if they are wide and also with soft padding inside). It is convenient when there is also a belt fastened on the stomach. You should also not take a backpack that is too deep: there is a temptation to stuff it to capacity, and dragging a heavy load on yourself is not the most pleasant experience. Do not forget about hiking accessories like hiking headlamp.

If the hike is organized by a travel agency, then you will most likely be given a sleeping bag and a tent; if not, you’ll have to take care of that as well. Which tent to choose depends on how many people will sleep in it, and on the weather conditions of the place of travel. Modern assembled tents weigh only a few kilograms and resemble small sports bags. Well, a sleeping bag, of course, should be warm and light, preferably with a hood. Now let’s fill our backpacks!

Hiking shoes

The most important thing on a hike is shoes. It should be comfortable. It is best to take three pairs of shoes into the forest: sneakers, rubber boots in case of wet weather and flip-flops if you still decide to sunbathe in the parking lot. They will also come in handy on the train. If space allows, you can take spare sneakers or sneakers.

Comfortable clothes

Clothing that you will need: pants and a jacket “for the forest” – “anti-encephalitis” suites are very convenient for this purpose, which protect against ticks, thanks to tight-fitting sleeves and legs. Usually, they come in fashionable protective or camouflage colours, which, of course, is not the last argument for us!

In case of cold and rain, a sweater and a waterproof jacket or raincoat with a hood. A cotton T-shirt on the body – depending on the duration of the trip, it costs two or three to take them. But it would be nice to take socks and panties for every day + a spare pair, and one pair of woollen socks. Another set of clothes – pants, a T-shirt, a sweater and warm socks – should be designed exclusively for “sleeping”. This will ensure comfort in the tent – believe me, falling asleep in wet and dirty clothes is extremely disgusting. Oh yes, a hat will come in handy on cold nights!

Don’t forget your swimsuit and a baseball cap or Panama hat. Moreover, fabric ears can be sewn to a baseball cap, otherwise, your ears risk getting burned, which happens quite often. It is also good to sew on an elastic band that will pass under the chin and hold the headdress, preventing it from flying off from strong winds.

Of course, if you go on a “survival” trip, then we don’t need the things listed below. But for the rest to be comfortable, something still has to be added.

Hygiene items

First of all, you will need hygiene items: soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, 2 towels, a comb, shampoo, wet wipes (carry them with you in your pocket, it’s more convenient), toilet paper (it ends quickly on a hike), as well as hygienic lip lipstick, hand cream and sunscreen. (If “critical days” are planned, this should be taken care of separately, but even if everything is calm in the plans, still take the necessary set with you – sometimes the body may react inadequately to a change in climate or an unusual load, and “they” will start unexpectedly). It is better to put all this in one bag and keep it nearby, on top or in a separate pocket of the backpack (the main thing is that it does not unfasten spontaneously).

The first aid kit should contain pills for motion sickness, fever, diarrhoea and painkillers, as well as iodine or brilliant green with cotton wool and a bandage. The good old remedy – medical alcohol, which can be replaced with other alcohol, will not interfere either. Indeed, in the forest, they drink not for booze, but “for health” – little by little and a little bit (I sincerely hope that this will be the case on your journey). In addition, they can treat wounds and abrasions.

The minimum set – wet wipes, a piece of toilet paper and some medicines – is best to always carry with you. Even if the backpack was left at the camp, this little thing can be folded into a pocket of clothes, a small bag or a belt.

The little things

The last thing we need to take is the very little things that are always forgotten. This is a manicure set, toothpicks, matches, a candle and a flashlight, mosquito and tick repellent, a supply of batteries for the camera, the camera itself, a needle and thread and pins – for some reason there is never too much of the latter, and I regularly replenish my stocks. To write down your impressions, take a notebook and a pencil, the most reliable writing instrument – our astronauts use it for a reason.

That’s all! With this set, you can safely go on a trip and become the queen of the campaign! Favourable wind!
