Planning Your Own Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Bridgerton has been a television phenomenon, since it first launched in 2020. Part of the show’s appeal has been its aesthetic choices: without the costumes, sets, and makeup department, it’s unlikely that it would have attracted the same audience.

If you’re a fan of the show, then you might want to incorporate some of these elements into what might be the happiest day of your life. Get it right, and you’ll enjoy a wedding that is suffused with Regency-style elegance. But what does that mean, in practice?

A woman in a white dress with puffed sleeves and pearl headband sits at a candlelit table, looking engaged in conversation. The scene has a warm, vintage, and elegant atmosphere.

Regency Style Décor

The show is set in the Regency era of the early 19th century – or at least, a version of that period. As such, it’s highly influenced by the stylistic choices that prevailed then. You might look for maximalist, highly ornate details, as well as pastel-style, muted colour palettes. A grand ballroom, with eye-catching candlesticks on every table, might be a great place to start.

Romantic Fashion

Another way to evoke the era is through the clothes worn by the key people at the event. You might pick out a ballgown with what’s known as an ‘Empire’ waist, set just below the bust, to create that all-important flowing look. Getting suits that are tailored in that unmistakable Georgian style might be advisable.

Wedding Bands With a Regency Twist

Arguably the most important objects in any ceremony are the wedding bands you’ll be exchanging. If you’re a fan not only of the show, but of the era, then you might be able to find a vintage-inspired design that calls it to mind. Of course, you’re unlikely to find an authentic wedding band from the era itself.

Garden Party Florals

Flowers are another great way to create that otherworldly sense of dreaminess, which runs through the whole production. Maximalism is the order of the day again. The more blooms you can pick out, and the more elaborate their arrangement, the better. Muted, pastel shades are best.

Music and Atmosphere

During the Regency era, electricity had yet to be invented. While you probably shouldn’t go without electric lighting altogether, a few candles, complemented by warm white bulbs, might evoke the Bridgerton vibe. When it comes to music, the best approach is usually to bring in a string quartet – just be aware that you’ll often end up paying a little more than you would to a traditional band, or a DJ.
