I’m not someone who has a lot of handbags these days. I’ve done a lot of downsizing with my possessions over the years, and culled my bags to a manageable level. I rarely treat myself to a new bag. Nowadays I’m all about practicality. I have a bog standard black tote bag, which is just really convenient because it carries a lot of stuff. A new bag will need to be really special for me to prefer to use it over my everyday go-to bag. I’m excited to say I have found a new, really special bag. This is the Mini Jen travel handbag from Mia Tui.

The Mini Jen might look like just a tote bag, but it’s really an ingenious creation by the founder of Mia Tui, Charlotte Jamme. Once you see what it comes with and what it can do, I think you’ll agree!
Perfect For Travelling
The Mini Jen is called a travel handbag, and this is one of the reasons why:

The bag has an opening behind the outer pocket which slides around suitcase handles. This is just perfect for airports. I know from experience how awkward it can be lugging a shoulder bag as well as dragging a suitcase behind you. This way, your bag stays secure, it’s easier to walk, and you have a free hand. The bag zips up fully so you don’t need to worry about anything falling out of it behind you.

The Ingenious Interior
Things are just as innovative inside the Mini Jen. The bag comes with a number of extra features. Firstly, it has a brightly coloured interior which means you can see everything in there easily. It has a removable longer strap as well. On each side of the bag inside there are extra compartments with specific purposes.

One of the interior pockets contains a transparent zip bag which fits perfectly into its pouch.

This sturdy little bag is the correct size for airport security, so you can pull it out of your bag easily for the scanners. It beats using those flimsy little bags they give you at airports. With it having a zip, you don’t have to worry about spills. As it’s in its own designated interior pocket, you can locate it in a second when you get to the conveyor belt at security. I recommend these portable face mask pods for travelling with, especially on a long haul flight.

On the opposite side is another pouch which contains a smaller, matching handbag.

This little bag comes with both a long shoulder strap, and a wrist loop. Both are removable. This smaller bag is ideal for holding valuables like your purse or passport and boarding pass. It can stay inside the Mini Jen in its designated pouch, easy to locate. You can also carry it as a wristlet or a shoulder bag.

In another corner of the bag, there is an insulated bottle holder. This will keep your drink either hot or cold. It also holds the bottle securely in place; again, no risk of spillages.

On the opposite corner of the bottle holder is another nifty feature. There’s a phone holder as well as two pen holders. I love the fact there are two, as you always have a spare if one runs out. Imagine being on a long haul flight with a crossword book for entertainment, and your only pen runs out? This is just one of the reasons I find this bag so practical. You can also find your phone really quickly this way if it rings. I spend a lot of time rummaging in my bag for my phone and missing calls.

As well as all these features, there’s also an elasticated clip attached to the inside that you can clip your keys to. It’s easy to pull out of the bag with the keys on the end. No more tipping your bag’s contents out on the floor to find your keys, thankfully.
The Large Capacity

Even with all the interior sections, there is still so much room inside the bag. Here it is with the mini handbag (filled with my purse and sunglasses), the travel compliant toiletry bag (filled with my travel-sized toiletries), a water bottle, my phone and pens, and my keys.

The bag is so large that you can fit a lot extra in to it too. Here it is with my laptop, book, glasses, hairbrush and notebooks added too.

Everything is stored so neatly, very easy to find, and nothing is getting lost in the depths. The fact that it has the ability to be fixed to your suitcase as well is a fantastic extra.

The Mini Jen also comes with its own protective bag. If you only want to use it every time you travel, you can store it away safely without fear of any damage or dust.
You can probably tell by now that I really love the Mini Jen. I have never found such a useful bag that can carry so much, yet still look good. I am over the moon with it and highly recommend it as a travel bag. It would work so well as a work bag too.
About Mia Tui
Charlotte Jamme founded Mia Tui in 2010. Charlotte was living a busy life as a working mum of two, and an ex-pat in Vietnam at the time. The idea was borne out of her own frustration with all bags being just empty sacks into which possessions vanished. The interiors were too dark to find anything.
The brand uses no animal-based products whatsoever in any of its products, so this is a completely safe brand for vegans to use. The bags, including the Mini Jen, use super soft and resilient vegan leather.
The bags are still made by craftsmen and women in Vietnam. There is a training programme for workers which allows unskilled employees to learn a trade to sustain them for life. The brand knows all its employees personally.

Where To Buy The Mini Jen
You can purchase Mia Tui bags directly from their website. I have a discount code for you to enter at checkout. The code MJL15 will give you 15% off full priced items. Please note the code cannot be used on any bundle offers or in conjunction with loyalty points or any other code.
The Mini Jen retails for £52 and comes in multiple colours (mine is the colour Tan). There is a slightly larger version, the Jennie, as well.
You can see here that the Mini Jen is still a large bag. I am 5′ 6″ so the Mini Jen might be the best option if you’re the same height as me or shorter.

The phone pocket is a must to me

The great storage compartments for ease of organisation.
I love the way it attaches to the suitcase

Bottle holder
Definitely the drinks container.
I like the fact that it’s so spacious that it can hold a laptop.
The key clip – I have only once had a bag that had one and I wish they were universal, they save so much time (and so many fingernails)
I like a bag with different compartments so I know where everything is.
I love the way ou can attach it to a case so that you don’t have to keep rescuing it when it slips around.
The Mini Jen would be a godsend for me when travelling because I have an ileostomy and have to travel with my stoma supplies in my hand luggage. Because of this reason, I have to juggle a handbag, a bag with my stoma supplies and my suitcase when I go travelling. The Mini Jen would negate the need to carry an extra bag as I could fit everything into it using the various compartments and I would easily be able to find specific items if I needed to change my stoma bag. The added benefit to the Mini Jen is that I can put it over the handle of the suitcase which makes travelling so much easier, especially as I go to the airport by train. I have wanted one of these bags for a while now but haven’t been able to afford one so I will be keeping everything crossed!
Storage compartments, I hate rooting around in the bottom of my bag for keys or a pen
I love the insulated bottle holder as I usually end up with lukewarm drinks when I am out with my son 🙂
Have a stay in hospital pending, I think I could get all I need in this beauty.
I love that it is so elegant and practical at the same time which I think is the best feature
Looks great and would be so very useful
The phone pocket mainly!
I love all the different compartments.
The large capacity! as when were out literally everything ends up in moms/Grandma’s bag lol x
Vegan leather. Fantastic! I don’t buy fashion products in which animals have had to be slaughtered in order to produce that product so it is good to read a review about a stylish vegan-friendly brand.
I like a bag that fits all my bits in! I often read hardback books, it has to fit one in!!
All the interior sections, I’m forever routing around trying to find things in my bag, having them in a certain place will make that much easier
I love the little bag, great to keep little extras in that can just be slid out of the main bag as and when needed
this bag looks awesome! loads of different compartments, and i like the fact it comes from Vietnam.
Love the colour and all the well thought out travel features. Would go perfectly with all of my autumn colours through all the seasons.
I love the insulated bottle holder – I have had so many drinks leak or even tops come off so this would mean no more spills
Amazing. Just what I need
All the storage would be crucial.
I like that you can put it on your suitcase
The phone pocket is ideal ?
I love all the compartments and the fact that you can attach it to a suitcase.
Plenty of room and compartments here.
Such a great design concept. Love all the features, but especially the insulated bottle holder and the smaller handbag. Everything seems so well thought out.
Great idea as everything in my bag gets jumbled up
What an amazing bag! I love all the compartments – perfect for travelling…and it’s vegan leather 🙂

Of course the way it’s divided into different compartments is very useful. I particularly love the insulated bottle pocket. I’ve never seen any other bags with this feature.
the insulated bottle holder
I love all the different pockets. Definitely my sort of bag and would be very handy to have.
the little pockets for phone and pens, the two items im always routing around the bottom of my bag for
this is what i call a magical bag x
I love the detachable inner bag. Such a handy component. Would keep travel docs , tickets, boarding passe, passpor all together andwseperately. Easy to locate at busy check points when travelling.
Love the key tab
The little pockets, but I would still lose things
I like that it fits so well on top of a suitcase – so much easier than trying to manage 2 separate bags
I love the clear zip bag for travelling, ideal for the airport restrictions in place
The bottle holder is a fantastic idea especially in this weather
Great size bag – perfect for storing keys and valuables safely
Love the many interior compartments and the big capacity of this gorgeous bag
The phone pocket
The matching handbag with it’s own pocket 🙂 I currently have a bumbag in a rucksack and this would be so much more practical! I was just having a conversation the other week about needing a new bag but not being able to find what I wanted – I think this may just be it! It has to be big enough to carry A4 papers, the ability to carry an assortment of “bits” that won’t get lost, a bottle of water, purse..etc and not be too cumbersome…it’s so difficult to find one that will accommodate A4 size stuff AND not lose all the bits like pens..etc
I love that you can attach it to your suitcase
I love the key holder. I have one on my current bag, but this looks so much smarter.
Fill that & you’ll injure your back.
I had a mia Tui bag for my birthday. I love it, it’s red and came with a smaller makeup type bag. I’m not sure the name but it doesn’t sit over the handle of a suitcase like the mini Jen so I still need a mini Jen for holidays
Great bag would make travelling so much easier and so roomy!
Great bag would make travelling so much easier and so roomy! Would love to win.
I love all the storage compartments
Love it. Classically simple and elegant yet hugely practical.
The bag the correct size for airport security
Well thought out bag with loads of space, stylish too!
I particularly like the organization within the bag i.e., the various interior pockets which mean that you can easily find whatever you are looking for. Also, the fact that the bag is not made of leather as well as the ethics of the company are also both important factors.
Large capacity
I like that it fits with suitcase handles, so much easier for managing bags when travelling.
the key clip would be very useful as i am always rooting around in my bag looking for my keys.
definitely the large capacity, love roomy bags
Being able to fix it to my suitcase would be most useful to me.
The choice of different length straps is very handy!
All the storage features, I lose things in my bags!
Love all of the compartments, the suitcase handle feature and the main zip – I am always dropping/losing stuff so this would be ideal
The travel compliant storage bag would be very useful
These bags look absolutely gorgeous. I love handbags and the travel ones look great also
I love the different compartments, maybe I could be organised and stop losing things
The size that can fit a lot in it and that has compartments to put my phone in
i love that its got lots of storage compartments
the protective bag so it can be cleanly stored in the loft with my suitcase when not in use!
this would be ideal for travelling to Us to see my daughter, love the fact it will fit on my cabin case so no more struggling with lots af bags!
If everything is easy to find, this would be the best feature
I’d find the pen slots the most useful! My pens are always getting lost in the void in my bag so it would be nice not to lose them for a change!
All the little sections and bright interior because I can never find anything in my bag x
The pocket and pouch for toiletries is a great feature
I like the sections – would make finding things so easy!
I love all the different sections so everything can be easily found xx
The insulated bottle holder is genius! Would be great to keep a cold drink
The phone pocket, im always losing my phone in my bag
For daily use, the designated pockets (especially the one for the water bottle) would be great. For travel, the ability to hook it over the luggage would be wonderful. I find balancing bags on luggage to be so tricky.
Loving the multiple storage compartments!!
The bottle holder would be so handy for me as I take water everywhere and always ends up leaking into my bag!!
the bottle holder is a fab idea the amount of times i’ve had water leak in my bag x
The phone pocket such a easy access x
Ooh definitely the different storage compartments
i like the inner phone pouch and the elasticated clip attached to the inside
Such an indicative handbag
I love the extra little bags inside.
The large size, I always carry too much everywhere!
Like the different compartments – can never find anything in my handbag x
the colour of the interior so you can find things easier
I like the ability to fix it to your suitcase so you can’t forget it and it is easier to carry around an airport
The phone pocket is a great plus to me.
I am the guilty one who is usually holding up a queue, as I am tipping the contents of my tote onto the counter, looking for my bank card – so, on behalf of everyone I have ever delayed, the easy storage – and finding of stuff quickly – would be good for me xx Thank you hosting the blog and giveaway xx
The key keeper – always have to hunt for mine down the bottom of the bag
That it goes in a suitcase
The phone pocket would be perfect for me.
The phone pocket would be so useful for easy access.
The pouch included looks sooo handy!
Wow, a really well thought out and beautiful bag, my favourite feature would be the bright interior, I hate having to dig through the bottom of a dark bag!
the phone pocket – my phone always got lost in my bag
The feature I like most in bag is different compartments
It has so many features, but I like the colourful interior. I have a brown bag with a brown interior & can never find anything!
In handbag the feature I love most is different compartments for different things
I love practical bags like this, so I hope I can win one.
There are so many features I like about the bag, colour (particularly the lining), the bottle holder, pockets for mobile and pen, that it can easily be attached to a suitcase and above all the capacity.
This a clever handbag but any handbag my wife uses needs a homing instinct so it can come home on it’s own when it frequently gets lost. In a world where Apple, Google, Tesla, Oxford University etc. are all working on self driving cars is it beyond the whit of mankind to produce a self driving self homing handbag?
