Lidl has taken the fragrance world by storm with the release of several perfume dupes over the years.

The German supermarket has produced copies of expensive perfumes from designer brands at a fraction of the price.

The Lidl perfume dupes include copies of feminine scents like Chanel No. 5, Boss Orange for Women, and Cacharel’s Amor Amor.

Lidl also has copies of Angel by Thierry Mugler, Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana, and Ghost Luminous.

Their G.Bellini line for men also has aftershave dupes for brands like Dior, Loewe and Paco Rabanne. 

The good news is that these are very affordable perfumes and they can save you a lot of money if you have a favorite scent that they dupe.

What’s the idea behind the Lidl perfume dupes?

Lidl has created their fragrances to dupe, or mimic, the scents of a number of many people’s designer favourites.

For example, their dupe of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle smells just like the real thing.

Lidl also has an impressive dupe for Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle.

This is great news for any bargain hunter out there.

Lidl shoppers can get much cheaper alternatives to their favourite perfume just by going to their local store.

How much do Lidl perfume dupes cost?

A perfume from Lidl costs around £5 for a 100ml bottle.

This is amazing when you think that a Chanel perfume has a price tag of upwards of £50 (and often much more than that).

The Lidl perfume bottles may not look as luxurious as ones from Chanel or Chloe.

But at the end of the day, if you can’t tell the difference at the first sniff between the designer version and the Lidl perfume dupe in a blind test, does it matter if you pick the cheaper version?

If buying designer is something that appeals to you because of the quality or the experience, you might consider using cheap perfumes for everyday.

Are Lidl perfumes cruelty free?

Yes, all of Lidl’s own brands are cruelty free.

Their perfumes have the brand name Suddenly, and none of these are tested on animals.

This is great news if you love an expensive perfume on the list below but won’t buy it because the company tests on animals.

This is often the case for the larger designer brands.

Some of these are not available at the moment, but they have been kept in the list in order to keep all the dupes listed in one place.

Note: the name Suddenly is the range which Lidl sells its perfumes under.

It has been excluded from this list to avoid it getting repetitive; for example, ‘Suddenly Madame Glamour’ or ‘Aura En Rose by Suddenly.’

If you love designer perfume but also love an amazing deal then join dozens of thrifty shoppers and try out the Lidl perfume dupes the next time you’re in the store.

You might be a loyal D&G perfume wearer but in a blind test many people can’t tell the difference between D&G Light Blue and the Lidl copy.

The supermarket’s cheap Essence Cotton Blue perfume can save you a lot of money and if you’re after a new scent as well, why not try out some of the other Lidl dupes.

Where to buy Lidl perfumes

Lidl sells its own brand fragrances in Lidl stores. They are not available to buy on the website.

However you can also buy them at eBay quite often.

As mentioned, many of the dupes in the list above are not currently available. Some have been discontinued for a long time, but hopefully they will reappear on the shelves again in the future.

Femelle and Chalou are two of their newest fragrances. Madame Glamour has been around for several years and is still available in the supermarket.
