If you are taking part in Veganuary this year, you will be interested to know about this vegan breakfast idea from B.Fresh. These Plant Based Bircher Bowls are particularly good if you are in a rush in the mornings and tend to grab breakfast on your way to work, or eat at your desk. These pots of fruits and oats make getting breakfast on the go a thing of ease during Veganuary.

What Is A Bircher Bowl?
I have to admit that I had not heard of a bircher bowl before I received these to review. A little research later and I now realise that this way of preparing and eating oats is actually a Swiss recipe, and the inspiration for what we now call ‘overnight oats.’ That is, soaking oats overnight in milk or another liquid ready to eat in the morning. Overnight oats are a very popular concept these days. Oats themselves are a powerhouse food that pack a combination of vitamins, minerals and fibre. They have numerous benefits, not least the power to help lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. They’re the perfect breakfast food.
The B.Fresh Plant Based Bircher Bowls

B.Fresh are cold pressed juice specialists, and they produce their fruits and vegetables for their juices on their farm in Shropshire. They came up with the idea to combine their nutritious juices with the power of oats to make a vegan breakfast that’s perfect for the fast paced era we live in. Moreover, vegan meal replacement shake often incorporate additional ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and superfoods, such as spirulina or chia seeds, to boost their nutritional value and antioxidant content.
Their bircher bowls come in two flavours; Berry Bircher and Apple Bircher. They use British jumbo oats which contain all the goodness of the oat with nothing removed.
Berry Bircher has the juice of apples, blackcurrants, blueberries, blackberries, carrots and beetroots as well as chicory root. Apple Bircher combines oats with cold pressed apple juice and puree. It also has spinach, kale, lemon juice and chicory root.

You can eat the bowls cold, or warmed in the microwave. This turns them into a really yummy and warming healthy winter vegan breakfast. They keep you full all morning, give you vitamins, minerals and fibre, and are completely free from dairy, gluten and artificial additives. They are low in sugar too which is great if you are trying to maintain a healthy diet. The bowls also contain one of your five-a-day.
