Vegan Hair Removal Products From Sugar Coated

Last updated: October 13, 2023

When it comes to vegan-friendly beauty products, makeup and skin care spring immediately to mind as being widely available. However, what about the other beauty bits and pieces we use in our bathrooms that we can’t live without? For example, toothpaste and hair dye. Vegan waxing products are another type of widely used beauty products that are a little harder to track down. So many women use at-home waxing products but if you’re searching for vegan hair removal products specifically the choice is limited. A brand can also label its products as ‘vegan’ meaning they don’t contain any animal products, yet still be a company that tests its products on animals. The search gets even harder, therefore, looking for products that are not only vegan but cruelty free. Luckily, Sugar Coated has come to the rescue with its sugar waxing products that are both of those things.

All About Sugar Coated

The founder of Sugar Coated, Rosie Khandwala, hails from Tanzania. Rosie grew up there with her mother and sisters all doing at-home sugar waxing as a form of hair removal. Coming to the UK in 1987, Rosie noticed there were no sugar waxing kits around so she started to make her own to use at home. Eventually she moved to selling the kits, and business grew so much Rosie was able to occupy a nearby premises where she still manufactures the wax kits.

There is a kit for every hair removal need. Sugar Coated has a full body kit, as well as kits specific to leg hair, facial hair, bikini line, underarm and arm, and even hair removal on tattooed skin.

What Is Sugar Waxing?

Sugar waxing is an ancient practice which dates back to 1900 BC. It uses sugar syrup and water to form a paste which sticks to the hairs yet not to the skin. When it’s pulled off the hairs are removed but the skin is not irritated or pulled. It means less pain and less irritation. Rosie has combined her sugar wax with essential oils to help soothe certain areas of the body. For example, the Facial Hair Removal Kit contains lavender essential oil known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. The face can be ultra-sensitive so this is designed to help stop redness. The Leg Hair Removal Kit contains rosehip essential oil which adds extra hydration to the skin and helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

The Face of Ethical Hair Removal

As you know by now, Sugar Coated is a vegan friendly and cruelty free brand. It is also 100% natural, completely water soluble, and biodegradable. The strips that come with the kits are washable and reusable so there is no waste. It’s practically perfect!
