The cruelty free movement is thankfully gathering momentum and more and more people are buying products not tested on animals. Unfortunately there are still a lot of brands that test on animals, and some of those are the big and famous nail polish brands. I’m really pleased to introduce a brand which fortunately makes lovely cruelty free and vegan nail polish that rivals the best. This is Dr.’s Remedy, a brand which also prides its products on being 10-Free, which means free from some of the biggest toxins found in nail polishes these days.

About Dr.’s Remedy
This is a nail care brand created by two podiatrists, Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel. As I mentioned above, they are 10-Free. They don’t contain any of the potential carcinogens found in lots of nail polishes. These include formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, parabens, and phthalates. Instead, their polishes contain a blend of organic ingredients such as tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract, wheat protein, and also some vitamins. Together, these ingredients are antifungal, nourishing and strengthening. They won’t damage or dry out the nail underneath and help to preserve and enhance its natural colour and shine.
The Products
There is a huge range of colours to choose from in the Dr.’s Remedy range. The three I have here are Poised Pink Champagne, Remedy Red and Noble Navy. However the range also includes shades from the lightest white right down to a black shimmer, and everything in between. You can buy them as single polishes or in a trio like this one. Dr.’s Remedy also produce base coats, treatments, top coats and oils, all designed to keep your nails (and you) as healthy as possible.

The Application
I was really impressed with the application of these polishes. They were opaque in two coats. I added a third coat just to be sure on these swatches. As you can see they are solid colours with no streaking or patchiness. They have a lovely gloss to them and go on evenly. They don’t have a strong smell unlike many nail polishes. I am a big fan of darker colours so Noble Navy is right up my street. Remedy Red has a pinkish undertone so is a warmer red which would look amazing with a sun tan. Poised Pink Champagne has a very subtle ‘grown up’ shimmer to it. It’s neither too frosty nor sparkly.
